Vanessa Bowers DipAVN RVN

Head Veterinary Nurse 

Vanessa's desire to become a Veterinary Nurse began whilst she was working at the former Arwyn Davies practice in Hay-on-Wye, It wasn’t a Training Practice so she moved to Arrowfield in  2005, qualifying as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2008. She has worked her way up and now holds the position of Head Nurse.

Vanessa completed the Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (DipAVN) in February 2015. She aims to put the extra knowledge into providing an even higher standard of care for the patients.

In her spare time Vanessa enjoys walking with family & friends and of course her Springer Spaniel ‘Willow’. She likes spending time outdoors, reading and beekeeping (although Willow isn’t so fond of beekeeping!)



Emma Palmer RVN

Veterinary Nurse

Emma joined Arrowfield in June 2013 as maternity cover, as an invaluable member of the team she has now become a permanent member of staff. Emma qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2006, previously working in busy mixed animal practices in Hereford and Dorset.

Emma grew up on a small dairy farm on the Dorset coast, she moved to Herefordshire in 2004 to pursue her interest in large animal practice work. Emma now has a keen interest in nurse clinics and exotic species, she also enjoys anaesthesia and surgery.

In her spare time Emma enjoys spending time with her 3 children, walking her dogs, visiting Dorset and tending to her various poultry and small animals.



Christina Downes RVN

Veterinary Nurse

Christina is from a farming background and kept a small flock of sheep. With a desire to be a Veterinary Nurse from an early age she found a training practice in Aberystwyth in 1999 and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2004. 

Since qualifying she has worked in a mixed practice in Herefordshire before joining the Arrowfield team in June 2014. She loves the outdoors and has a vegetable garden and keeps hens & ducks. She enjoys baking cakes and spending time with her daughter.



Lorna Clarke RVN BSc (Hons)

Veterinary Nurse

Lorna graduated in 2015 from Hartpury College with a BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Nursing Science. She enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Nursing. Outside of work Lorna enjoys playing Netball for Luctonians and Wyebridge and going running with her dog Seifton.



Kelly Moss BSc (Hons)

Student Veterinary Nurse 

Kelly started at Arrowfield Veterinary Practice in January 2014 as Trainee Animal Nursing Assistant. Previously she has completed an Equine Science degree, an NVQ level 3 Horse Care and management and she is an AMTRA Suitably Qualified Person (SQP). She have quite a menagerie of animals at home including horses, dogs, cats, rabbits and Chickens. In her spare time she likes to ride her horse, meet up with friends and watch films.
