She has spent a number of years as a vet nurse educator and laterally moved from a referral practice. Mandy has now moved predominately into practice management, which keeps her very busy and challenged. Her main role is to ensure all staff, clients and patients are looked after.

Relaxation away from work is riding & competing locally with her horse Ellie, and being at home with her 3 dogs, cat and son Louis, who also rides.

Judith Jones

Accounts Manager

I started working part time at Arrowfield in 1997 and during my time I have seen many changes, I now work full time as the accounts manager. When I left school I went to work in a local bank, a job to which I returned when my two children were at secondary school.

Living in a rural area it is impossible not to be involved in the countryside and working at Arrowfield gives me great satisfaction and its a job I really enjoy. I love meeting people and at Arrowfield we work as a team, our aim is to provide a warm friendly atmosphere for our Clients.

Outside work, I enjoy cooking and it has become a tradition for me to bake a cake on staff birthdays. I also enjoy spending time with my family; my three grandchildren give me enormous pleasure, and going away with friends.

Angela Jauncey

Kington Receptionist

I’ve worked at Arrowfield, as a part-time receptionist, mainly evenings and Saturday mornings since 2002. I really enjoy my work, meeting people and their pets and the farmers on the large animal side of the practice.

Living locally, with my husband, Martin we farm sheep, pigs and suckler cows. We have a few chickens one of whom each year manages to ‘steal’ a nest and hatch a brood.

We’ve four adult children and grandchildren, so there’s never a dull moment at home either.

Louise Peatson

Kington Receptionist

Louise started working part-time at Arrowfield in November 2007 so has seen many changes over the years. Reception duties give her contact with the clients and their animals, which she enjoys.

Her interests centre around her family and 4 dogs.

Charlene McLellan

Kington Receptionist

Charlene came to join Arrowfield on a voluntary basis in 2010 and has since become an employee as a part time receptionist. Before this she studied her NVQ in horse care.  Charlene trained to become a professional dog groomer she qualified in August 2013 and as since started her own business. At work Charlene always greets clients and their pets with a smile, she enjoys being able to spend time around people that care as much about animals as she does, happy clients and healthy pets are her priority. Charlene is a proud mum of 3 children and owns a variety of pets herself including 4 dogs. She cares for all animals no matter how big or small. Her eldest daughter also has a passion for animals and is currently training her Cocker spaniel. Outside of work she enjoys caravan holidays with her family and helping out her dad when lambing starts, on a quiet day you will often find her on the tractor with her father.

Chris Charnick

Kington Receptionist

Chris has worked at the Kington branch of Arrowfield Veterinary Practice since April 2003, initially as a cleaner then since October 2011 as a part-time receptionist.

She lives in Kington and has three children, two of whom still live at home. She has 6 cats (and a number of others who treat her as their second home) and 2 guinea pigs.

She enjoys reading (recently getting into the joys of Audio books) and very loud music. She thoroughly enjoys dancing in a group called ‘The Shimmering Lights’ who have performed within the Kington area

Jeanette Williams

Presteigne Receptionist

I work at the Presteigne branch surgery covering reception for the morning surgeries. Having spent many years living and working in London, I returned to the area in 2005, not quite able to shake off my love of all things countryside and in particular mid Wales. I now enjoy walking in the woods and up hills with the family's springer spaniel Ben, relocating to Hay Book Festival for a week every May time and travelling to Cardiff to support the Welsh rugby team whenever I can.

Jayne Hughes

Presteigne Receptionist

I’ve been working at the Presteigne branch of the vets since 2012 as the evening/Saturday receptionist and love meeting local customers and their pets.  It was a childhood dream to work with animals and I got there eventually!  I have several pets of my own – a golden retriever called Sasha, two cats Maisy and Toby and a cockerel named Eric and his four little bantams.  I have lived in Presteigne for 23 years with my husband and three children and also work in one of the local schools.

Alison Dickerson

Alison started with us in August 2014. She works hard to keep Arrowfield looking clean and tidy which is no mean feat in a mixed practice. Outside of work she spends her time with her three children and her husband Graham. She is kept busy with 6 dogs and 2 cats as well as helping with the vintage rally.
